In this episode I chat to singer songwriter Lesley Roy was was due to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam. As teenager Lesley would busk on the streets of Dublin and instead of dreaming of superstardom she actively chased it. She signed a record contract with and American Label and spent two years in Sweden learning to write pop songs under the direction of Max Martin who produced her 2008 debut album "Unbeautiful". The album was released and expectations were high but it wasn't to be. Lesley began cowrite for other artists like Ms Montreal and Adam Lambert. This year she was returned to performing and was due to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam with her song "The Story Of My Life". The song was released and lauded however on the 18th March the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was cancelled due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

This week I released two episodes of “Fascinated”.

The first is a catch up with Canadian superstar Jann Arden. Last week Jann was due to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but it was cancelled due to the outbreak of Corona Virus. We also chatted about the second season of her sitcom; “Jann” which is due to drop in April.

I’ve also uploaded the podcast version of the live “Fascinated” show that we did at the Dublin Podcast Festival. My guests on the night were the fabulous Naimee Coleman and the wonderful Niamh Kavanagh.

Given the measures taken by the Irish government to slow the spread of Covid-19 comedy has been suspended for the foreseeable future and my April tour dates have been rescheduled as part of this. DEVASTATING! Some new dates are below.

This pandemic is very serious, I thought i had it this morning. I woke up with a headache and felt awful I ran to the kitchen to get the thermometer and passed the half-empty bottle of gin and the two bags of doritos i ate in front of the telly last night. Anyway… I stopped panicking.

The latest episode of “Fascinated” has dropped and the guest this episode is Jacquie O’Sullivan who replaced Siobhan Fahey in Bananarama. Jacquie is the former lead singer with the Shillelagh Sisters and was drafted in when Fahey left due to creative differences.

Sitcom actress Jessica Chaffin is the latest guest on “Fascinated”. Jessica recently starred on “Veep” and “Abby’s” and is part of the all-star voice cast of “Big Mouth” on Netflix.
