New Podcast "Agony Rants"!
So I have some podcast news! Fascinated is taking a little break and i will be doing a new weekly show with none other then Irish Eurovision legend Niamh Kavanagh.
The truth is Niamh and I have been friends for a long time. I first met her when I was a young teenager in secondary school and she was the toast of the neighbourhood when she won the Eurovision.
In our new show “Agony Rants” we will be doing what we do best talking and meddling in other people’s lives. So we want to hear your stories and solve your problems. Keep an eye on our social media and we will tell you what we will be talking about. If you have a problem, want advise or want to get in touch directly you can email us agonyrants@gmail.com
The Bright Side in Cinemas now
I have a small part in this film which was made back in July of 2019. I’m delighted to say I didn’t end up on the cutting room floor. Below is the official blurb!
World-weary stand-up comedienne, Kate McLaughlin (a superb Gemma-Leah Devereux) is in a dark place – she wants out. Her morbid prayers are answered in the form of a cancer diagnosis. To placate her family, she begrudgingly agrees to undergo chemotherapy. Armed with staggering levels of cynicism and a plethora of blackly comic jokes, Kate gets off to a bad start with four other women she encounters in the chemo ward; four women from all walks of Irish life, whose unsolicited friendships are perfectly designed to blow open her shut down heart.
Inspired by Anne Gildea’s best-selling memoir I’ve Got Cancer, What’s Your Excuse? THE BRIGHT SIDE is a fresh new dramedy about the healing power of love, laughter and friendship.
It was an absolute joy to make such a personal film as The Bright Side. It has nurtured, inspired and entertained me in a dark time. I am delighted to have a chance to share it with Irish audiences on the big screen this summer where I hope it will do the same for them.
Ruth Meehan, Writer/Director
The Bright Side is a Playground Pictures production, directed by Ruth Meehan, written by Jean Pasley and Ruth Meehan. It stars Gemma-Leah Devereux, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Siobhan Cullen, Derbhle Crotty, Barbara Brennan, Karen Egan and Kevin McGahern. It is produced by Tony Deegan with backing from Screen IrelandFís Éireann/Screen Ireland (FÉ/SI) is the national development agency for Irish filmmaking and the Irish film, television and animation industry., RTE and BAI.

Fascinated Season 7
Some Online Shows!
Ok here is the news! Myself and Joanne McNally are doing a weekly new material night ONLINE! We decided we have to get ready to go back on the road at some point so a weekly online gig where we try new jokes to a select few is exactly what we need.
We are not emailing our mailing lists or promoting this we’re putting it on sale during the week and we’ll let you know on instagram when we do. It sells out really quickly so you have to be quick. But we’ll be doing it until real live gigs can happen again so don’t worry if you miss out this week!
Keep an eye on our instagram pages and we’ll let you know when they go on sale!
"Clear History" New Panel Show On RTE2
Socialy Distant Shows Cancelled
Some sad but not entirely surprising news. It was always a long-shot but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be. Due to Ireland moving to level 5 restrictions we have to cancel my socially distant shows.
We have rescheduled tour shows a number of times this year so we are going to hold off on announcing the rescheduled dates until next year when hopefully things will be a little more predictable.
Stay safe everyone and if you need of cheering up you can always join me baking a cake each Wednesday evening on Instagram live.
Book the Bake Along For An Online Corporate Event
Since the beginning of lockdown I have been running a weekly online Bake Along on instagram live. We have regular bakers from all over the Ireland, UK, Canada and the US. The show is as much about the comedy as about the baking. It is the perfect mood lifter in the absence of Christmas parties and get-togethers.
