Gearoid is an interviewer of the same caliber as Terry Gross or Marc Maron. He has a way of morphing an interview into a relaxed, casual conversation with his subject, that is both disarming and friendly and he has an absolute talent for drawing the listener into the conversation, making it interesting to them, regardless of their knowledge of the interviewee. He prepares the listener with a short, well researched biography on his subject and then morphs into the chat from there. I cannot get enough of it. As an American, I have prior knowledge of only about 60% or so of his subjects, but regardless of who they are, I never miss an episode, listen to the end, and always look forward to the next show.
